Call the Cat: Galaxy is a casual action game about landing on small planets, painting their surfaces, and expanding a cat colony across the galaxy. It is the third game I have shipped as a solo developer, and the one I have written the most devlogs about — the Unity rebuild, the forty planets built from ten data files, the boss the AI “weakened” by only lowering its HP.

This page is the game itself, not the making-of. The devlogs live under the Devlogs menu.

What you do

You play Ruru, a cat in a spacesuit. You land on a tiny planet, collect treats, paint the ground, and dodge or defeat the creatures living there until the whole world belongs to the cats. Planets come in small, medium, and large, and the galaxy is divided into themed regions — a cookie universe, an ice universe, a burning-hot universe, and a chaotic one where the elements collide.

Between expeditions Ruru returns to Cat Headquarters, where you upgrade the house and the spaceship. A bigger headquarters means you can reach farther out on the galaxy map.

Dream LogNyang

Lie down on the bed at headquarters and the game becomes something else entirely. Dream LogNyang is a separate survival combat mode: waves of monsters, elemental hazards, dangerous ground effects, and bosses. You pick ability cards mid-battle, so each run builds a different combination. Ruru and Dodo fight differently, which gives you two ways through the same encounters.

LogNyang was my second game, already live on Steam in Early Access when I started planning Galaxy. Instead of shutting it down and opening a new store page, I folded it in — the bed at headquarters is how you get there. It ended up inside Galaxy rather than beside it.

The Android build is not on Google Play yet — it is still in closed testing.

A note on how it was made

Some artwork, character illustrations, backgrounds, music, and promotional images were made with generative AI tools and then reviewed, edited, and integrated by hand. The game does not generate images, music, or text during play. The same disclosure is on the Steam page.
